Exercise Wheel

The exercise wheel is an interesting new fitness innovation that is great for working abdominal muscles. It can effectively replace crunches as a method for obtaining chiseled abs. Another advantage of using this device is that it will simultaneously work the back, shoulders, and arms.

The basic exercise wheel is simple and affordable. Basically it is a wheel with a handle on each side. The user will roll outward and then come back in either a sitting or standing position. When the user is sufficiently advanced to perform the exercise in both positions, a total abdominal workout can be had with this one simple tool. These devices typically retail for ten dollars or less. Some designs have two wheels which provide more stability, which is great for beginners but is not truly necessary.

Although the exercise wheel is a great tool that has been rightfully endorsed by many healthcare professionals, individuals with a history of back problems and pain should avoid this device. It is possible to seriously injure the back or inflame old injuries while using the wheel. Also, as with any and all exercise equipment, its directions and instructions should be read thoroughly before being used.
